Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
If you know one, post it!
i.e., Snow Bros, awesome game but not hugely famous. And more enjoyable than bubble-bobble.

Hey I LOVE Bubble Bobble. Let's see if anyone knows these two.

Re: Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
Never heard of Zombie Panic in Wonderland, but I'm sure that anyone who's played Super Smash Bros. Brawl knows what Pikmin is.
Re: Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
I've heard of Pikmin, I've never played the original though.

Re: Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
Pikmin is fun believe me and Zombie Panic in Wonderland is difficult yet fun at the same time. Like most games
Re: Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
Also, Holy Magic Century/Quest 64 is a brilliant forgotten/hidden gem. It was overshadowed by Zelda:OOT, but it's so worth a play. The only problem was the need to grind and lack of side-quests.
Re: Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
Kind of sounds like Final Fantasy XIII, fantastic game though
Re: Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
Haha dear me, I watched HCbailly's let's play of FFXIII. I've got to say, it's basically spitting on many of the things that made FFIV - FFIX so enjoyable (i.e., interesting NPCs and side quests).
RIP Final Fantasy as we once loved it.

Re: Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
It's basically a film developing the playable characters with excellent battle mechanics and amazing graphics. However, it flounders in nearly every other way. There are literally no memorable NPCs.
-Serah is basically a plot mechanism, and she is boring and sort of annoying.
-Dahj is in it for about half a second.
-I remember a villain with a huge rack, but nothing else about her.
-There was also a guy who repents in his dying moments, which was good but then he blew the shit out of himself anyway.
-Barthandalus was quite frankly a toned-down version of Seymour from FFX, except he looked like the pope and I didn't hate him as much, which is essentially a bad thing.
And seriously, the whole c'eith stone thing was long and arduous and dull. Basically, running around for hours just to kill an enemy that you've fought 100 times before except recoloured. Oh wait, they did that in FFXII.
And let's face it, they didn't do even half as much as they could have with explaining the plot well. I liked the short cutscenes, they were a success. But maybe they could have used some of that time to explain the plot a little more, rather than leaving all that to the datalog.
Ok, rant over. I'll just go back to replaying FFV.

Re: Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
Eh doesn't matter to me, as long as the story and game is good why complain? Well everyone complains to everything lol.

Re: Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
lol also, another hidden gem was the game infinite undiscovery by sqare enic (epic spelling mofo) for the 360, over shadowed by many other rpgs and final fantasy games (wow, brought it back to FFXIII without meaning to) as well as the fact that it was long and the story was REALLLLLLLLLY multidirectional

Re: Forgotten/hidden gems in videogames
Kind of reminds me of Pikmin. Such a forgotten but great game. I want Pikmin 3!

Official Notice: This thread is now an FFXIII discussion board, despite what anyone has ever said to the contrary.
